OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support free, accessible, and high-quality arts education and contemporary art programming through exhibitions, public dialogue, and community engagement initiatives.
Art Legacy Miami works across institutional and independent contexts to strengthen cultural ecosystems by investing in recurring programs, ethical artistic labor, and public-facing educational experiences.
We promote artistic excellence by fostering cultural partnerships, expanding access to the visual arts, and helping preserve the artistic legacy of our communities.

MIFA Dialogues is presented in partnership with Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA) and may also be activated through collaborations with other cultural spaces and institutions.

Recent collaborations include a partnership with Arts Connection Foundation to present a solo exhibition and live performance by Orlando Urdaneta, scheduled for November 2025.
These projects reinforce the Foundation’s commitment to artistic production, cross-institutional collaboration, and expanded public access to contemporary art practices.

Partnerships
Art Legacy Foundation collaborates with museums, independent art centers, educational institutions, and community organizations to develop and present its programs.
Current and past partnerships include Miami International Fine Arts (MIFA), Arts Connection Foundation, City of Doral and additional cultural organizations aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
We value partnerships that prioritize public access, ethical compensation, and long-term cultural impact.

The organization is currently a nonprofit in formation and is governed by a board and advisory structure that provides oversight in financial, legal, and cultural matters.

ABOUT US
Art Legacy Miami Foundation was founded by artists and educators Milixa Morón and Elkin Cañas, whose combined experience in fine arts education, professional artistic practice, and cultural leadership has shaped a vision centered on artistic excellence and community impact.
Recognizing the essential role that art education plays in society, the Foundation was established to build bridges between artists, educational institutions, cultural organizations, and the public.
Rather than working independently, we believe the greatest impact is achieved through collaboration. By partnering with schools, universities, ateliers, museums, galleries, nonprofit organizations, and community art centers, we help strengthen existing initiatives while creating new opportunities for artists and students alike.
Our goal is not only to support today’s artists, but to help preserve the artistic heritage that future generations will inherit.
